This seemed to be just what I wanted, got it quickly, hooked it up and tested everything and it all worked. put in in the box to use when school opened. Took it out today, hooked it up, put in a CD and it played 6 songs and then JUST QUIT. Can't read the CD, none of the controls respond other than the on/off light comes on. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T ORDER EARLY BECAUSE AMAZON ONLY GIVES PART OF YOUR MONEY BACK.
I finally found how to edit this: the story ends well: I contacted Akai warranty and they had me send them my broken 212 and I thought this is just a waste of shipping BUT THEY SENT ME AN 886 WHICH COSTS ALMOST THREE TIMES AS MUCH AND WORKS GREAT. IT ALL TOOK LESS THAN 2 WEEKS FROM START TO FINISH.

Bought this in Mid June for my daughter's July 8th birthday. Gave it to her and we played with it that night. It hasn't been used again until this weekend August 25th when my daughter had a sleep over. The thing just quit. Contacted Amazon and they say we are past the return time. Tried to find Akai online and only their Pro product line is available online. Found a different seller that claims this unit has a 90 day warranty (which we're still in) but no phone number, address, or website. I would NOT recommend that you purchase this unit. Junk is the kindest word that I can find to describe it. Not just the unit, but a company that will not put their address, contact phone number or website address on the documentation isn't a company that you should do business with. Amazon should really rethink their reselling of cheep crap products like this. Akai KS 212 CD+G Karaoke Player

The first player I received did not work at all. I returned it and received another within 2 days. The second worked for about 15 minutes and then the graphics went out. My child will not have karaoke for her birthday party because this player is worthless. Very disappointed.
